SOD: Bourbon Legend “Robot Dick” THE SEQUEL!
Ask and Ye Shall Receive! A while back “Robot Dick” was our SOD and we loved it long time and hoped we could hear it live with a backing band. Well folks this little gem got dropped in my inbox this week and I gotta say I’m not disappointed in the slightest. The band sounds tight and his voice sounds just as good as the recording. Bourbon Legend, you keep that shit up.
SOD: Bourbon Legend “Robot Dick”
My only previous experience with a ukulele only musician have been with a Ft. Collins chick that goes by the name of Danielle Ate the Sandwich who is currently blowing up local venues. Her songs are great & the covers she does are spot on & at times funny but always seem like they are stuck with someone more focused on their voice than their weapon of choice the ukulele. Hearing of Christopher “Bourbon Legend” Smith though you can’t help but immediately realize this is a guy whose voice is uniquely familiar & knows how to play the hell out of a ukulele. One never over powering the other. But just like the ukulele being a tiny fun sized version of a guitar you will always have fun sized songs such as “Robot Dick” a personal favorite about a Robot with an erection. Don’t let the comedic tone of one song lead you to believe Bourbon Legend is just another one trick ukulele pony. Skipping back and forth from hilarious to heart broken you find an artist with great range in song writing and song playing. With an already long list of original material I would hope to see a live performance soon just too see if the man was half the legend we hear today. Word play…nailed it!
